Independence Day is celebrated in the 12th day of June every year in the Philippines. It marks the date where Philippines free from the Spanish on June 12, 1898. Independence Day is a national holiday so governments offices are closed and there are no classes in all schools. But why do we celebrate Independence Day?

We celebrate Independence Day to remember the courage, struggles and sacrifices of our heroes and ancestors. The bravery of our fellowmen and to fight a force more than ours is a deed we can be proud of. Not only to fight colonizers but also their own fears. This is the realization of a dream long desire by Filipinos. Because of the work of our heroes and ancestors it will always remind the past, present and future generation of nationalism, commitment and devotion of Filipinos  towards the Philippines. The memories that our heroes have done to our country has a great influence for us Filipinos to celebrate and commemorate, the day of Independence.

Let us continue giving importance of the bravery of what our heroes did in fighting for Philippines Independence. They are the great models whom we can admire of and idolize. Their words served as additional learnings and have a great impact for us learners.
